Hatha Yoga is one of the most ancient wellness practices in India. The word’s origin is Sanskrit, when divided in two, ‘Ha’ means ‘the sun, and ‘Tha’ means ‘the moon; together, the translation means a practice to balance the sun and the moon energy within our bodies. This practice allows two energy channels of the sun and the moon within our bodies to find a steady path of emotions. The course of Hatha yoga enables an aspiring practitioner to deeper understanding of one’s physical and mental body. Our day-to-day activities develop muscle stiffness with time. Our sitting, sleeping and standing postures affect our health as these three postures are the most important postures to be performed correctly. Once these postures are misaligned, our bodies start to struggle from within due to weakness in muscles, unnecessary pressure on one side of the body causes joint issues, and eventually, it affects the organs’ health in our bodies. 

 

These anatomical concepts of our body are covered in this course of Hatha Yoga where you can learn to work on your body once you have identified its limitations and restraints. Theme-based asana practice of forward folds, back bends, and hip openers, can improve our overall physical health as every muscle of the body is targeted to improve. Once you identify and connect with your physical body to improve, your mental and emotional body finds a path to release itself from stress.
