Alignment and Adjustment classes are beneficial for any practitioner to understand the correct form of a posture. Engaging the correct muscle in a particular asana is the only way to truly benefit from the practice of yoga, otherwise, it is just your body moving in a motion without benefitting from the movement. 

 

A beginner-level practitioner needs knowledge of human anatomy to understand if the practice that they are doing is beneficial or not.
